INSTOW

Instow signal box provides a timeless scene on the Tarka Trail near Instow seafront.  We try to open it to the public on occasional Sunday afternoons during the higher season but this depends on the availability of volunteers.  It is preserved just as it was on the day it closed to passenger traffic.  You can pull the levers and turn the level crossing gate wheel. The box is, of course, quite viewable from the Tarka Trail even if it is not open to the public. There is a public car park and layby just north of the signal box.
